After breakfast, you will be picked up at your accommodation in Marrakech. Our destination is the village of Ouzoud with its famous waterfalls, about 160 km away, northeast of Marrakech. The Ouzoud Falls are located in the Middle Atlas near the village of Ouzoud in the province of Azilal. Ozoud is the word for olive in Tamazight. The surrounding area is covered with olive groves and here the good olive oil is produced. The Ouzud waterfalls are considered the highest and most beautiful waterfalls in Morocco. The water falls in several floors over red rocks, a total of 110 m in depth. The shores of the falls are overgrown with fig trees and lianas. On a footpath you can get to the top of the falls and down a steep path on the right side of the falls. Below you can cross the river with a small ferry and get back via the stairs.
On the way Berber monkeys are often to be found. The excursion to this area is a year-round delight for hikers. Above the falls are some mills that are still in operation. Small restaurants with views of the waterfalls invite you to linger. In a Restaurant near the waterfalls we take our lunch.
Also on the way back to Marrakech photo stops are possible. In the evening we drive back to your riad in Marrakech.
